I don’t have a sweet tooth and rarely have dessert, but these are the dishes served in London that I will ALWAYS order:
Custardo at Forza Wine
You could argue that the custardo is not a dessert, and I would certainly have agreed with you last time I was at Forza Wine and justified ordering one as well as their excellent soft serve ice cream. It is however one of my favourite ways to end a meal. Warm custard with a shot of coffee. I know it sounds disgusting but trust me.
Kinako French Toast with matcha soft serve ice cream at Shackfuyu
It’s the only dessert on the Shackfuyu menu and that makes perfect sense to me.
Apple Pie at Chet’s
This American/Thai fusion restaurant in the Hoxton hotel at Shepherd’s Bush is a hidden gem. You will need a torch to read the menu but the food and cocktails are worth straining your eyes. Their apple pie is a perfectly flaky pastry case containing sliced apple drowned in miso caramel and I could happily eat it every day of my life.
One more thing…
Any recommendations I should add to my list? Anything from outside London?
Sticky toffee pudding in Mildred’s (soho).
Profiteroles from Le Relais de l’Entrecôte, Paris. Perfect amount of chocolate sauce!
When you inevitably go to Deal, the rhubard sorbet at Frog and Scot is a must order dessert!
